Excellent food and service. This was a great fine dining experience. We will definitely be back for the fall menu. 48oz Tomahawk steak was plenty for two. Our server Dana was very professional and her wine suggestion paired perfect with steak.
This casual bistrot is a gem in the New England coastline. The refined menu is a mine of traditional and international discoveries, each carefully prepared and served by a highly professional and prepared staff. A place to visit and visit again
I don’t send many reviews, but this was a must as the food was absolutely delicious! We had the scallops which were cooked just perfectly, and the swordfish was the best my father ever had! Along with a devine steak and sweet potato croquette. We will be back again!
Café Routier is an upscale restaurant that absolutely always delivers the best quality. The menu, changing seasonally, is consistently delightful. While moderately expensive, this restaurant embodies the idea of "you get what you pay for" and is hands-down a must visit at least once while in the area. Every time I have dined here, I have tried something new, and every time, I am more than pleased. From the ambiance to the delectable dishes, Café Routier is easily the most impressive place to enjoy dinner on the shoreline. Not to mention, with a wide selection of wine and a fully stocked bar, you will be hard pressed to find a drink that does not pair with whatever you order. A great pick for a date night or just a fancy evening. 10/10 without fail.
Great menu, delicious food, casual bar side to the left, more formal seating with tables and booths on the right side. Beautifully prepared and presented food, octopus, calamari, fresh tuna all exceptional.
Food was delicious, the halibut melted in your mouth, you need a spoon to get every drop of the sauce! Tuna seared perfectly, scallops excellent! Service was 5 stars all the way. Tuna nachos were good but there’s only 3 and I’ve had better, that being said we’ll be back this week !
From the moment we walked in the door, Andrew greeted us with warmth and professionalism. He was amazing to say the least. His customer service skills are truly out of this world—he’s clearly mastered the art of making guests feel welcome and cared for. When he described the specials, he did so with such confidence and enthusiasm that it was hard not to want to order every single one! It also happened to be my birthday (September 14, 2025), and Andrew made it feel as magical and joyful as it did when I was a child. His kindness, attention to detail, and genuine enthusiasm turned an ordinary dinner into a truly memorable celebration. Café Routier is lucky to have him, and we will absolutely be back, thanks in large part to Andrew’s outstanding service
We had a great dinner here, we were a party of 6 and one being a toddler who’s 2.5 years old. The food was exceptional. All our meals were so tasty! Our server was good minus when asking if the bread was made with dairy due to someone in party had a dairy allergy. If you are going on a date night etc it’s the perfect place to eat but for families, I’d recommend going elsewhere as it’s not family friendly. There is no kids meal and our daughter was quietly watching a show and so many guests asked to move their table away from her. Just fyi to families looking for places to eat!
